What a beautiful idea it was to have an early morning walk in Florence straight after the wedding! When the emotions of a big day are still giving them goosebumps, when the sun is tender and love is all around...
A very special shoot for me. a very special family. A very special boy.
I was spending a couple of weeks in Florence in September, and the family of my boyfriend came to visit. We enjoyed a beautiful Florentine atmosphere, drove to the lookout point, enjoyed the sincere and warm weather. Filip, a curious 1,5 years old, was giving me goosebumps with his smiles, excitement and sincerity. I hope I managed to catch his childhood spontaneity <3
This wonderful proposal became one of the highlights of my summer. It was like a movie. Like the most romantic episode of a family saga. Sean thought of every little detail: from the view on the vineyard to flowers that his beautiful lady loves. The musician played their song. The sun was slowly setting down. He was talking of his love and desire to spend the whole life together. She was crying, amazed by such a surprise. I was pushing the button. This is their story.
Jeffrey and Naomi are from New York, and a couple of months ago they visited Amsterdam for the first time. This is where he decided to pop the question. Amsterdam was a perfect city (as Jeffrey told me) to propose: it's beautiful, charming, lively and very romantic. It has everything that they love when traveling: great international community, lots of hidden gems and great light. Naomi didn't have a clue. She was impressed. She was happy. She was emotional. And I was there to capture it (thanks to Flytographer for arranging it !).
I've spent some beautiful years in Florence, and keep on coming back to capture love and romance. I adore this city, it gives me so much strength and inspiration! I love exploring it again and again with clients, looking at usual things under a different angle...That afternoon we took a risk to shoot on busy Florentine streets, chasing great light and capturing a special vibe of the city. I love the result! Hope you too :)
I can't even calculate how many couples I had the privilege to photograph in Venice. I love this city for old narrow streets, secret spots all around and great light. Sharing one of my favourite couple shoots in Venice.
Yana and Aleksei were dreaming of a romantic intimate elopement in one of the most beautiful cities in Italy - Florence. We got really lucky, as the sunset sun created a truly magical atmosphere. I walked with them to my favourite photo-spots, and we witnessed the sunset from a rooftop terrace in the heart of the city.
I always get overexcited about proposal shoots. The level of responsibility is so so high - every emotion, every movement is candid, important, unrepeatable...I get nervous, then happy, then I cry, then I feel blessed. All in all, a hurricane of emotions. Shared with them.
Anthony popped the question on a warm sunny evening in May. Of course, it was a complete surprise! I was there to witness and capture their special moment. Then we walked, laughed, danced and celebrated... One of my favourite shoots for Flytographer.
I have been photographing Ira and Illia since my very first year in Cape Town. Their love story has been a source of inspiration for me, and I always admired that special tenderness, passion and common dreams that they share.
Iwassohonoured to photograph them while they were expecting their baby girl. We thought that sunrise in the dunes will be the best scenery to portray those tender moments.
Ira is a talented calligraphy master, so we couldn't resist decorating the table and having breakfast with an ocean view.
People often ask me if I do family or pregnancy photoshoots. Yes, I do. I often call myself a wedding and couple photographer, but I do capture many beautiful families and lots of those very special moments. I love when my wedding clients come back to me after some time, asking to take photos of their growing families. My heart sings at the moments like those.
I decided to collect a few of my favourite family and pregnancy shots, to give you an idea of my style. As you see, I love candid spontaneous shots, so I usually take my clients out for a walk. And we share some happiness.
